She looked at the vague reflection of herself on the window in her living room. The sky outside looked dark. Ellen stood there and looked outside the window without actually staring at anything in particular. She had been standing there for maybe half an hour, since Portia took her back to her apartment. Her brow slightly wrinkled. Her creative brain was spinning.
The image of that girl dancing on the stage. Like floating. Like…….
Suddenly Ellen turned around and quickly walked to her piano. She reached a pile of empty score sheets and put it on the music book prop on the piano. Her right hand started to dance on the piano keys, playing some notes, then she stopped and reached her pencil to write the notes on the score paper. That process went on and on. She wasn’t able to use her left hand, but that’s okay. She could imagine the harmony of the notes, the chords that were going to accompany these melodies. She could imagine the entire outcome of the song. She could hear it already.
She wasn’t continuing writing the undone song. She was writing a whole new song. A song that had come to her mind in all of a sudden.
Ellen DeGeneres had finally found her inspiration.

Today was a tiring day, Portia decided while swallowing the last pill on her left hand, then crawling up to her bed. Tiring, but fun and enjoyable.
Very enjoyable, in fact. Portia smiled to herself and curled up under her blanket, trying some positions before finally found the comfortable one. The bright mood of Ellen DeGeneres, paying a visit to Juilliard, dancing on a real stage – even though it was just for a short moment and not for any show, meeting and having a nice dinner with the Morattis.
Portia sighed happily. Her body felt heavy. Her eyes did, too. The last thing that crossed Portia’s mind before she fell asleep was how she hoped that Ellen’s mood will stay bright forever.
That night was the first night on the last 3 weeks, that Portia was finally be able to sleep for 6 hours straight without ever waking up in the middle of the night.
